Angel the horse

Meet Angel – A Christmas Rescue Story

Alone in a frozen field on a cold December night, a white pony stood silently. Her water bucket had been kicked over, and there was no hay to eat. No shelter. No company. Just frost-covered grass and an empty silence that no horse should ever have to endure.

Horses are deeply social animals — they need the presence of other horses and the warmth of care to thrive. But Angel, as she would later be named, had neither. She was abandoned and forgotten.

But hope came softly, wrapped in the crunch of boots on frost. Rescuers arrived just in time. In one beautiful moment, the reflection of a Christmas tree shimmered in Angel’s eye — a symbol of light returning to her life.

She was brought to safety, and everything changed.

Warm hay. A soft red blanket. A feed bucket. Gentle hands. A kind little girl pressing her cheek to Angel’s face. And, perhaps most importantly of all, the joyful nicker of another horse — a new companion to share her days with.

Now, Angel is home. She walks the forest trails with her young human friends and gallops free with her new equine companion. The lonely field is a distant memory.

Her story is just one of the many that inspired our charity single, Sending Love This Christmas — a heartfelt track raising funds for animal rescue charities across the UK.

Snowdrop

Snowdrop the kitten

Snowdrop’s tale is a quiet one. A tiny tabby kitten abandoned in the snow, too young to fend for herself. Her story in “Sending Love This Christmas” is just 30 seconds long, but it lingers far longer in the heart.

She’s cold. Alone. A soft mew, a frightened glance. But then – warm hands, soft blankets, and warming food.

It’s a story that plays out every winter in rescue shelters across the country.
